WHAT

visual playground is an alternative illustration and graphic design school, that aims to further develop the visual arts community in Romania.
We focus on creating opportunities for creatives to both learn new skills and develop existing ones through courses and workshops held by prominent speakers, designers, illustrators and studios from Romania and abroad.
Outside of the annual full-time 10-day session, we also tailor other happenings and gatherings dedicated to nurturing the visual communication skills of the eager local designers and illustrators:

WHY

Even though in recent years the number of initiatives promoting design in Romania has increased – through exhibitions and contests – there’s an obvious lack of regular and sustainable activities meant for both enabling the development of new skills and also perfecting existing ones. visual playground is the alternative learning platform accessible to any visual arts aficionado as well as the community where any design and illustration enthusiast can grow.

NOT
FOR
PROFIT

All visual playground events are not-for-profit events organized by a team of enthusiastic volunteers, members of the Visual Playground Association. The participants pay for their expenses and participation fees and the funds raised are used exclusively for covering the costs of organizing the events, as we put our efforts into offering the most insightful experiences to the members of our growing community. And yes, of course, we also offer annual merit grants for smashing talents.
